Institute for AI ethics
As AI rapidly evolves and increasingly shapes public life, economic systems and political decision-making, its governance remains largely fragmented between private corporations, national regulators, and opaque technical infrastructures. The goal of this project is to create a visual representation of the infrastructure that powers our digital lives, as well as ensure a future, in which we can work and coexist with this new economical force.
Organized into four interdependent typological wings, the building integrates a civic hub, a secure data center and a policy-making wing. This enables the transparent auditing and supervision of AI algorithms, as well as a civic-technological hub with low-latency computing available to the general public. The building proposes a new kind of typology and is designed with the idea of a future, in which data centers can be more than just noisy black boxes on the outskirt of our cities.
